Lexington County Rebound
Many South Carolina residence were affected by the October 2015 Flood of the century. As the water has settled and many South Carolina residence have recovered there are still many that have not.Lexington county has allocated residence relief funds.
The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development allocated an additional $5 million to Lexington County REBOUND (REBuilding Our Neighborhoods after Disaster), the County’s Community Development Block Grant – Disaster Recovery program (CDBG-DR). REBOUND is designed to address the unmet needs of people whose property sustained damage during the October 2015.
Many Lexington county residences have not yet decided if they want to move or repair their home. Many Lexington residents are waiting to have their properties purchased by the county to be developed into green space. Lexington county has plans to use some of the additional funds as incentives to get more
homeowners to participate in the voluntary, home buy-out option of the
